Ookami's Bloody Past...

Ookami had just wanted to be like all the other wolves. Why couldn't it be that simple?

From the time of a young pup, Ookami had known he was different. His parents had been killed by hunters and he had no brothers or sisters. All the other wolves his age rejected him and left him out of everything. It made him sad to think no one liked him. Ookami often wandered by himself in the forests surrounding his home. One day, he stumbled upon a hidden cave.

He had walked into the cave, a little unsure. But he was determined, and he kept going even though his instincts were screaming at him to run. He never knew what happened next; there was a crash and a bright light. He fell to the ground and blacked out.

When he woke up, he seemed to be floating. He looked below him and, to his shock, saw his body laying there, motionless. There was one human in the cave; a male. The male seemed not to see him and walked slowly to Ookamin's body. He was carrying a long metal stick. With a horrified stare, Ookamin realized that he was dead. With a snarl, he dove at the man, but to his great surprise, flew right through him! He tried again, but the same happened. A bright light filled Ookamin's eyes; it blinded him.

Then he saw through it and saw his mother and father. They called to him, smiling. But he remained motionless, staring back at the man and his own body. Ookamin's father frowned; his son would not go into the light. Then everything faded, and Ookamin was falling into a black pit that never seemed to end. When he woke up, he saw the man walking towards him and rose to his feet with a growl and attacked the man. The man escaped, but Ookamin now had 3 holes where bullets from the metal stick had pierced him.

He stumbed back to his home and spent two weeks healing. Then came news of the attack. Wolf packs everywhere were being slaughtered by another pack. Ookamin was determined to fight, and he did. The whole battle lasted a full week. Ookamin, too weak to continue fighting, collasped. The others thought him dead and cotinued to fight. His pack was slaughtered, and he others left.

Except for the dead.

Ookamin saw them all; all his pack members and the ones of the other pack. His family smiled at him then left and crossed over into the light to the other side. But the others did not. They stayed and whispered into his ear. For 10 years straight Ookamin wandered, finding packs to stay with. But the whisperings continued. It got to the point where he became almost mad. But he managed to keep his head.

He met a female, she seemed to see into him; see his horrifying past. But she loved him. They traveled together, and the whisperings ceased.

Until the day the pack cme again.

The ones who had destroyed his home and family were here, and Ookamin was ready for revenge! He flew at them in a rage, killing and killing. Whispering was back in his ears, keeping him from focusing. He ran.

Soon, his mate found him. He told her of his gift; the gift of seeing the dead. She didn't believe him and thought it a sick joke and left. She was soon captured and killed by the same pack that had murdered Ookamin's family. Ookamin wandered for 5 years, killing many. The whispering grew stronger and louder. He trusts no one, afraid to reveal his past and secret. He was horrified by his discovery of being immortal, and now wanders.

How could a simple wish turn so wrong for him?
